Well, after some pondering, I have decided to create a review/blog of something I have a passion for.
Burgers.
Are they even my favorite food? Probably not...but I have since 2000 led a group every summer called the 'Angus Beef Club' at the churches I've been in, where myself and a group of mostly teens would visit area (in Ft. Worth...then Houston...then back to the Ft. Worth/Parker County/Hood County areas) burger joints. The rules (usually followed, with a few exceptions) were that the place we visited could not be fast food, could not be a large 'chain', and had to specialize in burgers (aka, not a 'place that has everything, but also burgers').
So, how am I branching out this time?
I am going to try and visit various places, wherever I am at that time (like, vacations, road trips, home, whatever) and rate burgers. And mostly the basic burger...the patty, bun, etc. I am not much for tons of 'extras', so we are going off of basic taste. I will rate them from 1-to-5 'buns', 1 being barely edible, 5 being 'holy cow I can die now a happy man'.
I will be relaxing the rules for where I will eat my burger. Fast food? Sure. Places not 'known' for burgers? Why not. Even private recipes from someone's grill? You betcha.
So let's see where this goes. Should be fun (and I do hope to show some discipline and not gain 50 lbs on this quest), and who knows, maybe I will become a sort-of 'burger guru'!
Let the games begin! Oh, and if you have a place I need to visit or think you can grill up an epic burger (provided I can get to you easily...I live in Parker County just west of Ft. Worth, TX), bring it on!
